At the Southern Loggers Cooperative’s 2025 Annual Membership Meeting, we were honored to welcome Lori Walker, Founder and Executive Director of the National Association of Women in Timber (NAWT) to address our board and membership. Her presentation on the organization’s origins, rapid growth, and future vision was both compelling and deeply inspiring to our board and membership. The Cooperative has followed Ms. Walker and NAWT’s work with great admiration and was proud to sponsor the Association’s 2025 Annual Meeting. We were equally proud to share with Ms. Walker during that meeting that our board unanimously voted to continue—and expand—our support of this important organization to the Forest Champion level in 2026. NAWT’s leadership under the direction of Ms. Walker and their commitment to advancing opportunities for women in the timber and forest products sector are making a meaningful impact across the industry.
